Yogi likely to expand cabinet today

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is probably going to expand his cabinet on Sunday, just months before the crucial assembly elections within the state.
The expansion will happen at Raj Bhavan tonight , press agency ANI reported quoting sources.
Sources said that a minimum of seven to eight new ministers could also be inducted into the cupboard .
Jitin Prasada, who recently switched from Congress to BJP, is probably going to be inducted as a minister.
Besides Prasada, Sangeeta Balwant Bind, Chhatrapal Gangwar, Dharmveer Prajapati, Sanjay Gaur, Dinesh Khatik and Palturam also are within the fray
TOI had earlier reported that the expansion is probably going to amplify the OBC push within the reshuffle of the central council of ministers effected recently.
Representation for communities like Kurmi, Nishad and Rajbhar is in sync with the central leadership’s concerted bid to market OBC leaders.
A record 27 OBC leaders were included within the central government within the recent reshuffle.
Meanwhile, there has also been a discussion within the party about the necessity to accommodate some allies like Apna Dal and Nishad Party.
Assembly elections are likely to be held in UP early next year. In 2017, the BJP had stormed to power by winning 312 out of the entire 403 seats.
