England drop to sixth in ICC Test rankings with lowest points total in 27 years
Britain has dropped place number six in the ranking of the international cricket council test, leaving the new captain of Ben Stokes who is responsible for parties with their lowest total points in 27 years.
The ICC annual update, which dropped the results from the 2018/19 season and placed a bigger weight in this new match, saw England switching a place with Pakistan and lost their place in the world’s top team.
Autumn is almost not surprising considering the record one victory in their last 17 efforts, including the 4-0 defeat of Ashes this winter which helped Australia increase their advantages in the first place.
By slipping to the overall ranking of only 88 points to eliminate the 4-1 series victory over India in 2018 from The Reckoning-English now sitting in their worst ranks since 1995.
Speaking at Captaincy which was launched on Tuesday, Stokes admitted that the team results were unacceptable.
I think if we are really realistic, winning one match in 17 is not good enough,” he said. “Everyone must be realistic about that. All we can do is say ‘there is only one way to leave here, which is gone’.
It will be fantastic, but I am very happy with the role that I play easily -hopefully making the British Test Team again, this is my big goal and I am really waiting for it.”
The side of the Eoin Morgan white ball remains second in both limited formats, closing the international gap one day in New Zealand into one point and sits five of India adrift of the T20.
