After mucoonycosis, medical experts in India are faced with another challenge as a case of avascular necrosis, known as one deaths have been confirmed among patients found from COVID infection. According to the latest updates, three cases of scientifically confirmed avascular necroscular necrosis have been reported from Mumbai and medical experts estimate that more cases will be detected in the coming months.

Use of steroids and avascular necrosis

It should be noted that the only common factor between mucorte and avascular necrosis is the use of steroids, the only proven medicine to help covidant patients. Avascular necrosis is a disease where blood supply to the bone is temporarily disrupted or permanently.

According to reports, three young patients in Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai developed avascular necrosis two months after being treated for coronavirus infection. These patients have developed pain in their femmeur bone and quickly received a diagnosis of avascular necrosis.

Medical experts firmly believe that the use of steroids among covidant patients could be the main reason for triggering avascular necrosis between coronavirus survivors. If a person who found himself from Covid develops the pain of the hip or thigh, a confirmation MRI should be made to diagnose avascular necrosis.

The second wave of Waning Covid

Current coronavirus statistics in India suggest that the second wave of the country’s pandemic has begun to worsen. At one point, India had witnessed more than 400,000 daily Covid cases, but this number has dropped to less than 50,000 in recent days. Kerala continues to be the focus of coronavirus infections in India, as the state attends a regular test rate (TPR) greater than 10%.

In the meantime, the country’s medical experts firmly believe that a third wave of the Covid pandemic could soon hit the country. The director of the IAIMS Dr. Randeep Gullia recently predicted that the third wave of coronavirus would hit India within five weeks. A recent study report from IIT Kanpur also suggested that the third wave could hit India by September or October.
