War In Ukraine: 'Working In The UK Takes My Mind Off Ukraine'

Three women organized by local families have been given a role in the meal factory ready to be near Wells.

Yana, 23, said: “It is very important to work, because it is too difficult to sit at home and watch all the news about Ukraine.When I work, I focus on work and not all the time [have] my mind in Ukraine,” he said.

Charlotte Joyner, a business partner of people for Charlie Bigham, met women on the day of open recruitment with their adopted families.

He said that currently “quite difficult” to fill vacancies and a lot of work remains available to the locals as well.

The factory, which was built five years ago in a mine that was not used, produced up to 420,000 food every week with a 24 -hour work.The current market is a market driven by candidates,” Joyner said.We have many opportunities, we want people who want to work, who enjoy working with food.”

Yana, speaking through a translator, said he had had a job since he was 15 and wanted to continue to expand his skills and experiences, while also diverting his mind from events in Ukraine.

Yana Alina’s cousin, 26, who worked as a chef in Ukraine, said she would like to thank the “everything” at the factory.We don’t know English and everyone helps explain and show [us] what to do.”The three women worked together in the same restaurant in Ukraine before the war.

Karyna, 18, Yana’s sister, said: “Thank you to Charlie Bigham, now we have a job here, we can get money and help our families in Ukraine.”

The three women had never left Ukraine before and talked a little English. The company says offering English lessons to its staff.MS Joyner said “demeaning” to offer women’s work.We see what is happening in Ukraine but we have a busy life, we go to work and forget.
